The stand alone tub is connected at the bottom to a drainage outlet, thus enabling the need for drainage. If the drainage hole is just below, the floor drain can be used to drain directly.
The position of the floor drainage hole can be determined from the stand alone tub drawing.
However, in the vast majority of houses where stand alone tubs are purchased from behind,
the reserved drainage outlet is not just right – after all,
the house was not designed with any style of bath in mind at the outset. In this case,
it is possible to use the wall drainage + displacement hose redirection in the design drawings,
thus leading straight to the drainage hole and thus completing the drainage work.
If you want the drainage to have an anti-odour function,
you can also make the hose bend into a U-shape and then connect it to the drainage hole.
In this way, the stand alone tub can not only achieve the purpose of drainage, but also prevent odour.
How to install a stand alone tub
First of all, you need to consider the bathroom and its surroundings and determine
the position of the stand alone tub according to factors such as lighting, ventilation and wall colour.
The stand alone tub is placed directly on the bathroom floor and is placed independently in the bathroom.
It is relatively simple to install, with the installation of the water inlet and outlet being the focus.
Before installing the stand alone tub, stock and modify the bathtub spout and other channels,
then place the bathtub on two wooden strips, connect the water up and down,
then fill the bathtub with water and check if there will be any leaks.
If no leaks exist, the batten can be taken out. At this point, the installation of the stand alone tub is complete.
Installation of the stand alone tub downpipe
1、Drainage confirmation
Firstly, according to the drainage method of the bathtub on site or at the time of purchase,
choose whether the bathtub downpipe is an ordinary type, rotating type or bouncing type.
Drainage direction is straight or horizontal, the installation of products with straight drainage method,
the drainage port is best aligned with the bathroom underground drainage port;
such as can not be aligned, the horizontal drainage method should be used,
with corrugated drainage pipe or PVC hard pipe connection, to avoid blockage,
try not to be too long or turn more bends, knots, the connection should be tight not to have leakage phenomenon.
2、Confirm before installation
Confirm whether there is 80mm space under the drain of the bathtub,
put the drain (rotating type) between the bathtub inlet and the drain,
confirm the length of the drain and see whether the specifications are suitable.
If it is not 80mm or more, you need to pay attention to whether the drain fitting can be placed,
and if there is not enough space, place a mat under the bath to ensure that there is enough space.
In addition, make sure there is enough space for the drain to be connected to the pipework under the bath.
